We will be worshiping outdoors for the summer. Please remember to bring your lawn chair.  Also if you could help with set up or take down of Picnic Shelter, Keyboard and sound system it would be greatly appreciated.

Fri. Aug. 7 \u2013 If you are able to donate baking for our bake sale it will be accepted in the Fellowship Hall of TUC from 7 \u2013 8 pm or first thing Sat. morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sat. Aug. 8 \u2013 Join us for our Annual Bacon on a Bun\/Bake Sale Fundraiser, from 8 am \u2013 12 pm or whenever sold out at the front of Thorndale United Church! <\/strong>Set up begins at 7 am. If you are available to help out this morning for an hour or two or til we’re done, please contact Chris Tipping or Stu McCutcheon to volunteer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun. Aug. 9 \u2013 Donations for <\/strong>St Mary\u2019s Food Bank <\/strong>would be greatly appreciated. Suggestions include: <\/strong>Pancake Syrup, Juice, Canned Fruit, Oatmeal, Rice, Muffin\/Cookie Dry Mixes, Toilet Paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Book Club \u2013 Last years summer Book Club was so well received that I decided to offer another. I have 10 copies of the book \u201cMere Christianity\u201d by C.S. Lewis. It was first published in 1952 and is available on Amazon (There are many different cover designs) If you would like to join me, please pick up a copy at the church. If you wish, you may purchase the book for $10 from me or I can loan you a copy. Audio and Kindle versions are available online. <\/strong>Please let me know if you are reading along with us. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends. We will meet together over potluck charcuterie to discuss the book on Aug. 15th at 7:30 pm at Browns School. If you\u2019re new to our church, we sincerely appreciate your presence. You are a valued addition to our community, and we\u2019re grateful you\u2019ve chosen to worship alongside us. Save the Date! Sun. Nov. 8 \u2013 We are having a fund raiser to help cover some of the costs of the church renovations. The entertainment is “Frankie and the Fairlanes”, they play 50’s & 60’s music. First show will be a 3 pm at Thorndale United Church and possibly a 2nd show later in the day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you been receiving the weekly sermon summary and devotions? <\/strong>If not, we’d be delighted to send them to you. It is one weekly email sent Sunday afternoon. To get on the list, please feel free to share your email address with the minister .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coffee Talk: <\/strong>Join the group from 9:00 – 11:00 am every Wednesday<\/strong> at Browns Church Shed for the summer, with your hosts Lenny and Jim. Enjoy the coffee and treats, and of course, the good conversation with your friends and neighbours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
